Vacancy: Events and Community co-lead Volt Maastricht

Every month, Volt gathers together in our favorite pub, Café Forum. Here, we can evidently see how vibrant our growing and developing movement really is! With two seats, we entered the Maastricht city council in 2022 as the very first pan-European political party. Since then, our mission has remained unique: our party aspires to build a more inclusive, diverse and internationally oriented community out of Maastricht!

Our volunteers are indispensable for this! With this vacancy, we ask you to help us set up events. Anything is possible! From political debates to movie nights, from interesting lectures to city walks and from pub quizzes to getaways! As long as you enjoy helping to organise them and as long as we can work together to ensure the continuation of growing together as a movement.

What will you be doing as an Events & Community Co-Lead?

  • You’ll organise one event per month. You won’t do this alone! You’ll form a team with another enthusiastic co-lead and with volunteers who’d like to help out.
  • You maintain contact with members who have questions about events.

We are looking for someone who…

  • ...has an open attitude ;
  • ...feels good in an energetic environment;
  • …is able to speak either English or Dutch (or both!);
  • …likes to work structurally;
  • …is available approximately one hour per week;
  • …Is curious about (local) politics.

What does Volt mean to us?

Volt is a European political movement active in thirty countries. We are at the European, national, regional and local level represented across the continent, such as in the Bulgarian and Dutch national parliament opposition and in the governing coalitions of Cologne and Arnhem. In our border region, we are the first party to be represented in both Aachen and Maastricht’s local councils. Volt aims to make the whole of Europe more social, democratic and decisive. The party stands for optimism and new energy, in Maastricht and Europe. Volt's core values are linked to our ambition to radically strengthen bottom-up and pan-European democracy, increase equality, connect groups in society, boost political transparency and foster inclusivity throughout Europe. We strive for a united and democratic Europe through pragmatic and progressive politics.

Important Information:

  • 1 hour per week available.
  • It is a volunteer position. Don't be alarmed, there is a whole team of volunteers to help you out with your initiatives :)
  • We prefer someone who lives in Maastricht or is often here for study/work.
